Sponsor a Volunteer
Every summer we send 30 to 60 volunteers to the cities of Bethlehem, Beit Sahour and Beit Jala in the West Bank. These volunteers provide staff support for youth summer camps, tutor high school and college aged Palestinians in English, help grassroots organizations seek funding from Western donors, create websites, manage computer networks, assist at hospitals, research human rights and international law and much, much more. We work with a growing network of over 35 nonprofits and humanitarian organizations in the area to provide our volunteers with the most rewarding experience possible during their one to three month stay. Upon returning home, volunteers are encouraged to continue their service through community awareness projects within their own neighborhoods, churches and local networks.
The cost of traveling to Palestine (airfare, room and board, arabic classes, volunteer placement assistance, weekend excursions, etc.) can be prohibitive to many potential volunteers.
Middle East Fellowship and Holy Land Trust hope to be able to offer scholarship support to low-income but highly-skilled volunteers. Unfortunately we do not have any scholarships available at this time. But we can soon with your help!
If you are interested in sponsoring a volunteer for next year's Palestine Summer Encounter please let us know: travel@middleeastfellowship.org
You can also donate online at the Middle East Fellowship website's donation page.
Just be sure to make a note of the fact that the donation is for a "PSE Volunteer Sponsorship."
