Introduction

The 5th Annual Palestine Summer Encounter program!

Palestine Summer Encounter (PSE) is a one, two, or three month service learning and cultural immersion program in Bethlehem, Palestine. Participants study Arabic in and outside of the classroom setting, live with a Palestinian host family, volunteer with one of thirty-seven participating nonprofits and organizations and meet with both Israeli and Palestinian peacemakers.

PSE is a joint project between Middle East Fellowship, a U.S. based 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Holy Land Trust, a Palestinian nonproft organization. Holy Land Trust handles the logistics on the ground. Including: matching participants with an appropriate volunteer placement, organizing guest speakers and weekend excursions, working with families for homestay arrangements and other aspects of the program in Palestine. Middle East Fellowship is responsible for pre-trip preparation, promotion, and some logistics. Typically one or two Middle East Fellowship representatives are present at all times during the program to assist with planning and arrangements.
